Products / Sky Tunnel XL2 Rigid Tube
Utilizing a hard wearing, mirror finished polished aluminum tube with 98% reflectance.
Suitable for lighting up large areas, especially those with higher ceilings, most commonly used in schools, offices, supermarkets, leisure centers etc.
Alternatively, can be used in domestic situation where a small diameter rigid pipe is necessary to supply a greater amount of light than equivalent diameter Flexi-Tube unit.
Because there are no laminated coating used in the manufacturing of our rigid pipe that can peal off later. We are delighted to offer our customers a 20 year life time performance guarantee on our rigid pipe.

Explanation of Sky Tunnel System
![]() |
The Sky Tunnel System is made up of Three (3) Parts: Roof Parts: Includes all the parts you need for the roof already assembled and ready to install. The Dome is already fixed to the Breather Frame, the Tabs are already installed and all of this is already fixed to the flashing. There are different flashing to suit different roof types such as Tile, Slate, Metaldek, Custom Orb (CGI) etc Attic Parts: The parts that link the Roof & Ceiling. A choice of either Flexi-tube or Rigid98 Tube. Flexi-tube is more economical, easier to install and has very good efficiency. Rigid98 Tube has outstanding efficiency but takes longer to install and is more expensive. Flexi-tube is only recommended for lengths of 3m or less. Ceiling Parts: This includes all the parts you need for the ceiling. A ceiling frame/trim which is screwed to the ceiling, a ring for locking the flexi-tube into position and a double glazed diffuser system that magnetically fits to the ceiling frame. All the fixings you require for installing these parts are also included. |
Explanation of the Sky Tunnel Rigid Tube System
![]() |
The Sky Tunnel Rigid Tube System is made up of several connecting Parts. All these parts are made from Alanod Miro Silver. Upper Ring - 250mm High with slots cut into the top edge. These slots match up to lugs on the Breather Frame, and with a simple twist the ring is attached to the Roof Parts. ALL Rigid98 Tube Systems require an Upper Ring. Angle Adaptor - This allows the angle of the tube to be changed. This can be to adjust for the roof pitch or to move the tube off centre if roof parts and ceiling parts don't align. There are two different Angle Adaptors available: 0 - 45 degree (310mm High) and 0 - 90 degree (620mm High). Some Systems may require one Angle Adaptor, whilst some may require two. If the roof pitch is 0 degrees and the roof parts & ceiling parts align, you will not require an Angle Adaptor. Length - There are two different lengths available: 625mm & 1250mm. These are used simply to extend the length of the Rigid98 Tube to the required installation length. Lower Ring - The final piece of the system to be installed, this 155mm high ring is used to fill the gap between the last Rigid98 Tube Length or Angle Adaptor and the Ceiling Parts. |
How do I work out what parts I need:
If the roof has a pitch of 1 degree or more, and the ceiling parts are directly below the roof parts, you need one angle adaptor.
If the roof has a pitch of 1 degree or more, and the ceiling parts will not be directly below the roof parts you need two angle adaptors.
If any of these angles are greater than 45 degrees, you will need the 0 - 90 degree Angle Adaptors.
To work out your required length of Rigid Tube, measure from the ceiling to the top of the rafters and add 0.2m.
There is a 30mm overlap when joining the parts, so add the "Practical Lengths" of the parts you require: Upper Ring (0.22m), 45 Angle Adaptor (0.28m), 90 Angle Adaptor (0.59m), Lower Ring (0.12m). Then add as many 625mm lengths (0.595m) or 1250mm lengths (1.22m) as required to get to the overall required installation length.
